...your way to green!

HydroMarine™

The basic benefits of a hydrogen generator system are the same for all engines, regardless of whether the engine powers a boat, truck, tractor or earthmover. Those benefits are:

  • Decreased Emissions
  • Increased Fuel Efficiency
  • Increased Engine Performance
  • Longer Lasting, Smoother Running Engines

However, there are some unique challenges presented by marine usage, primarily in installation and rough-seas preparedness. To address these, we developed the HydroMarine systems.

Please note that all the information presented on the HydroSys Product Description Page, and its supporting pages, is directly applicable to the HydroMarine systems, so please review that information.

SeaLand Environmental's “Green Refit” of the fishing vessel Time Bandit, as seen on the Discovery Channel's show Deadliest Catch, is two-fold; increase the bottom line and become the first “green” crab boat. Besides environmental concerns, profitability is a motivation for these changes, due to variable fuel, oil, and other operating expenses. By “Going Green”, fuel savings alone will save money in the day-to-day operations, adding directly to the bottom line. All aspects of fuel, lube oils, cleaners, degreasers, paints and other coatings have been analyzed, and environmentally safe materials and best practice eco-friendly methods will be put into use. Diesel exhaust emissions, copper leaching, and elimination of phosphates are primary environmental goals.

HydroMarine installation on one of the Time Bandit's main engines. Installed on the panel directly behind the engine are the separator tank, bubbler tank, PWMs and controllers. Below this panel are the HydroMarine 1 cell for the generator and the two HydroMarine 2 cells for the main engine. The 30 gallon reservoir tank can be seen on the right side of the photo.

HydroMarine Installation on a 34 Formula PC with new twin Yanmar diesels at 315 HP each

The entire HydroMarine system was installed above deck. The only connections in the engine compartment are the power cables to the batteries and the 3/8 hose that feeds the hydrogen to the engine's air intake.

HydroPulse and electrolyte tanks The HydroPulse power units and electrolyte reservoir tanks are installed in the starboard cockpit side locker.
LCDs mounted on dash. Two LCD displays are mounted on the dash to monitor the HydroMarine system.
HydroCells mounted under sink The HydroCells are installed under the cockpit sink. This is an ideal location as they are secured with a locked door.
Complete installation The complete HydroMarine system installed conveniently above deck, well protected and ventilated.
